Privacy | Couture Intimate Boudoir Photographer

  • What is your policy when it comes to your client’s privacy?

A client’s privacy and protection is very important to me. I understand that each client’s comfort levels will be different, and I do my best to accommodate each client’s wishes regarding her privacy.

Some things to know about having a session with Noire Belle Studio :

Not only are we an all female team, but I also am the only person to edit and process the images from client’s sessions. Many photograhers will outsource their editing to save time, or will hire someone to come in and work for them, I have found the only way to guarantee privacy to my clients is to be the only one start to finish to work on the images. The exception being the professional printing lab, which is located out of state to further protect client’s privacy.

Images are only posted to the internet and used in my portfolio with a signed model release. Unless a client signs a model release, her images will not be placed online or used in my portfolio. As a thank you, I do gift clients a 5×7 for signing a model release, but there is never any pressure to sign a release.

As far as negatives go, I shoot using a digital camera. The images are saved to a memory card, then uploaded to my computer. Once I have uploaded the images, I will pick out the best proofs to use for the session. These proofs are burned to a disk and placed in the client’s folder for back-up, just in case a freak accident happened with my computer, I still have the images from the session. The memory cards are then erased and will be used for another session. The images on my computer stay there until six months after a client places her order. I do monthly sweeps and clean out old images from past sessions. Offering to store them for six months gives clients the opportunity to place an additional order in case she decided she wanted to purchase a wall portrait of her favorite image, or a travel album for her husband to slip into his suitcase, things she may not have thought about at the initial order time. However, I do not store client images forever, and erase them from my computer after six months. I also will erase them earlier if asked by the client. Back-up Cds are also destroyed at this time.

I try to respect and appreciate each client’s comfort level and do my best to ensure the privacy of each and every client. All sneak peeks on the blog are posted without any names, and I also can use images which do not contain facial features if asked. I have a large number of clients who do not wish to have a sneak peek posted at all, so it is not an abnormal request.
